As part of ongoing efforts to develop the cultural sector, the Ministry of Culture has awarded Fadha Engineering Consultants the project to develop the design of the Jeddah and Al-Baha libraries, within the framework of enhancing cultural infrastructure and improving the quality of cultural facilities in the Kingdom.
The project aims to develop modern libraries with an architectural identity that reflects the culture of each region and strengthens the role of libraries in serving the community. This will be achieved by supporting the digital transformation of library services, improving operational efficiency, encouraging innovation, enhancing community engagement, promoting information awareness, and fostering reading habits.
Fadha’s scope of work includes providing comprehensive design services for the project, starting with the review and validation of the conceptual design, followed by the schematic and detailed design stages, and concluding with the preparation of tender documents. This includes the application of Building Information Modeling (BIM), integration of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs, and compliance with sustainability and energy efficiency standards, ensuring the delivery of an integrated cultural project that meets the Ministry of Culture’s requirements and the aspirations of the local community.
This project goes beyond technical and engineering execution to embody the Ministry of Culture’s trust in Fadha. It represents the second library design project undertaken by the company and reflects a shared belief in the importance of culture and its role in strengthening national identity and supporting cultural and social development, while highlighting the value of collaboration between government entities and the private sector in developing sustainable cultural facilities that enrich the cultural landscape and enhance quality of life in cities.
